Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), spoke at an event in Alwar, Rajasthan, on Sunday (15th September). He described Hinduism as a world religion that wishes for the welfare of everyone.

Speaking at a gathering of volunteers at the Indira Gandhi Sports Ground, Bhagwat emphasized the need to eliminate the feeling of untouchability completely.

“Hindus are the ones responsible for this nation”

In his speech, Bhagwat said, “We must support our nation. As we say in our prayers, this is a Hindu nation because the Hindu community is responsible for it. If good things happen to the nation, it enhances the reputation of the Hindu community. If something goes wrong in this nation, Hindus are blamed because they are the ones who guide and manage this country.”

He further added, “To make our nation prosperous and powerful, we need to work hard. We must become capable, and for that, we have to make the entire society capable.”

“Hinduism is the religion of humanity”

He said, “What we call Hinduism is actually the religion of humanity, a world religion that wishes for the well-being of everyone. Being a Hindu means being the most generous person in the world, someone who accepts everything and has goodwill towards everyone. A Hindu is a descendant of brave ancestors who use knowledge not to create disputes but to share wisdom.”

Call to end untouchability

Bhagwat called for an end to untouchability and discrimination, saying, “We forgot our religion and became selfish, which is why untouchability and feelings of superiority and inferiority grew. We need to eliminate these feelings completely. Wherever the influence of the RSS is strong, temples, water sources, and cremation grounds should be open to all Hindus.”
