Australia’s Winning Streak Broken, England Wins Third ODI

In the third ODI, England defeated Australia, ending their 14-match winning streak. England, led by Harry Brook, won by 46 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis (DLS) method. Australia batted first, scoring 304 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, England scored 254 runs for 4 wickets in 37.4 overs, after which no further play was possible. England was declared the winner by the DLS method.

Harry Brook and Will Jacks’ Powerful Innings

For England, captain Harry Brook played an unbeaten century. He scored 110 runs from 94 balls, hitting 13 fours and 2 sixes. Will Jacks contributed 84 runs from 82 balls, with 9 fours and 1 six. Liam Livingstone added 33 runs off 20 balls, hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Australian Bowlers’ Performance

For Australia, Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green took wickets. Starc bowled 8 overs, giving away 63 runs and taking 2 wickets. Green bowled 6 overs, giving 45 runs and taking 2 wickets. However, Josh Hazlewood, Sean Abbott, Aaron Hardie, Glenn Maxwell, and Matthew Short couldn’t take any wickets.

Alex Carey and Steve Smith Shine for Australia

Earlier, England’s captain Harry Brook won the toss and chose to bowl first. Australia batted and posted a total of 304 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey top-scored with 77* runs from 65 balls, hitting 7 fours and 1 six. Steve Smith contributed 60 runs from 82 balls. Aaron Hardie played a quickfire 44 from 26 balls, while Glenn Maxwell scored 30 runs off 25 balls.
