The second Test between India and Bangladesh is being played in Kanpur. After four days, today is the fifth and final day. Team India has made the Kanpur Test exciting with their powerful batting. While the team entertained the fans with their performance, BCCI made a surprising decision to drop three players from the Indian squad in the middle of the match.
The three players who have been released are batsman Sarfaraz Khan, wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, and fast bowler Yash Dayal. You might be wondering why the BCCI made this decision all of a sudden. The reason is the Irani Cup.
The Irani Cup match between Mumbai and Rest of India will be held at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow from October 1 to 5. To allow these players to participate in the Irani Cup, the board decided to release them from the Indian Test squad.
