Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a tough stance on the violence that erupted during the Durga Visarjan procession in Bahraich. The CM has directed strict action against the officers who showed negligence in handling the situation. He has also ordered strict action against those responsible for the communal violence. CM Yogi has asked the ADG (Law and Order) and the Home Secretary to submit a detailed report on the incident.
CM Yogi stated that the local police officers who were careless in managing the situation in Bahraich will face action. There is also a possibility that Bahraich’s SP, Vrinda Shukla, might be removed from her position. The local intelligence failure is clearly evident, and CM Yogi is taking a tough stand on this issue.
Action Against Responsible Officers
On Monday, after reviewing the situation in Bahraich, CM Yogi held a meeting with senior officials. Following this, ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash and Home Secretary Sanjeev Gupta were sent to Bahraich to handle the situation. Both officials will continue to monitor the situation today (Tuesday) and will submit a report to the CM, based on which further actions will be taken.
Although the situation in Bahraich remains tense, security has been tightened. To maintain law and order, 12 companies of PAC, teams from RPF, and police forces from over a dozen districts have been deployed near the incident site. Senior officials are closely monitoring the situation to ensure peace is restored.

The police have registered a case against 10 accused, including six named suspects, and over 30 people have been taken into custody. The names of those detained include Mohammad Avesh, Tajmul, Mohammad Nisar, Dilshad, Rehan, Irfan, Habibullah, Armaan, Mohammad Nadeem, Adil, Javed, Lareb, Aslam, Riyaz Ahmed, Mahfooz Alam, Maqsood Alam, Shami Mohammad, Wakar, Irshad Ahmed, Imran, Riyaz, Zahid, Mohammad Danish, Mohammad Saleem, Afghan, and Imran Ansari.
