A student from Muzaffarnagar was allotted a seat in IIT Dhanbad for Electronic Engineering during the first round. However, due to not submitting the fees on time, the student could not secure admission. The affected student then approached the Supreme Court for help, and the court has assured him of full support.
Atul Kumar, the son of Rajendra from Titoda village in Khatauli, Muzaffarnagar, had secured a seat in Electronic Engineering at IIT Dhanbad. Atul had submitted his documents on time, but before he could pay the fees, the college website automatically logged him out, causing his admission to be delayed.
Supreme Court Assures Help
Atul then took the matter to court. He initially filed the case in the Madras High Court, but due to not getting a hearing date, his lawyer advised him to move to the Supreme Court. The hearing took place on September 24. The Supreme Court has assured full help to the student, and the next hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 30.

Atul Kumar comes from a poor Dalit family. His father, Rajendra, works as a laborer in a factory. Atul completed his early education at GR Public School in his village, and after passing high school and intermediate from other local schools, he prepared for IIT at the Gehlot Super Hundred Institute in Kanpur. Atul explained that they were arranging the fees and even borrowed money from villagers, but the deadline for fee submission passed.
Atul stated that on September 24, the Supreme Court heard his case, and the court assured them of help. The next hearing is on September 30. Atul’s father is a daily wage worker and also works as a tailor. Atul dreams of becoming an engineer.
