As the vote counting for the Haryana Assembly elections continues, BJP has taken the lead over Congress. According to the data available on the Election Commission’s website, BJP is ahead in 47 out of 90 seats, which is more than the majority mark. Congress is leading in 36 seats.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has accused the BJP of trying to influence the election process. He said, “Is BJP trying to pressure the administration by sharing old and misleading trends?”
Jairam Ramesh’s Statement on Social Media
Tagging the Election Commission on social media, Jairam Ramesh wrote, “Just like in the Lok Sabha elections, the latest trends on the ECI website are being updated very slowly in Haryana as well. Is BJP trying to pressure the administration by sharing old and misleading trends?”

He further said, “We are submitting complaints and expect ECI to respond to our questions because 11-12 rounds of results have already been completed, but only 4-5 rounds of results are being shown on the website. This also happened during the Lok Sabha elections. We expect the ECI, which is a constitutional and impartial institution, not to put pressure on the administration. There is no need to panic or be disappointed. This is just a ‘mind game.’ We are going to get the mandate, and Congress will form the government.”
Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s Statement
Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda told reporters in Rohtak, “Congress will get a majority, and Congress will form the government in Haryana.” He credited the party’s leadership, saying, “The credit goes to Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, and other leaders.” He added that the real credit goes to the people of Haryana. Congress leader Kumari Selja also expressed confidence that their party will emerge victorious, saying, “Just wait, Congress will form the government with a strong majority.”
It is worth noting that around 11 AM, three hours after the vote counting began, BJP had received 38.7% of the votes, while Congress had 40.5%.
Congress State President Ajay Rai’s Remarks
Congress state president Ajay Rai stated, “Good results are coming from Haryana, and our government is going to be formed… Congress is coming with a strong mandate, and BJP is going to be removed from the entire country. This election will have an impact on Maharashtra, the upcoming elections in Jharkhand, and the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. We will fight strongly and defeat BJP in Uttar Pradesh as well.”
