Hawala Money Seized on Way from Delhi to Gujarat, ₹7 Crore Recovered by Sirohi Police

In a major breakthrough, Sirohi Police intercepted a car transporting crores of rupees through illegal hawala channels. Two accused were caught by the Reco Police Station team at the Mawal Police Checkpoint on National Highway (NH-27) late in the evening. The car was traveling from Delhi toward Gujarat.

Police seized the car and arrested both individuals. Reco Station Officer Sitaram stated that two young men were apprehended for transporting money illegally. They confiscated ₹7 crore, 2 lakh, and 99 thousand from their possession. The amount was so large that the police had to bring in machines from the bank to count it.

Hawala Money Seized at Mawal Checkpoint

The money was reportedly being transported from Delhi to Gujarat, suspected to be hawala money. However, the smugglers’ plans were thwarted near the Rajasthan-Gujarat border when the police at the Mawal checkpoint stopped them.

Lack of Satisfactory Answers During Questioning

When the car was stopped and inspected, the police were shocked by the huge amount of cash. The driver couldn’t provide a satisfactory explanation for the money. The police then seized the car, took both suspects into custody, and are conducting further investigation.

Suspects Arrested

The police arrested two individuals: Sanjay Rawal, aged 31, son of Raju Bhai from Raodapura, Visnagar Police Station, Mehsana District, Gujarat, and Daud Sindhi, aged 42, son of Suleman Bhai from Gorad, Mehsana District, Gujarat. Further investigation is ongoing in the case.
