Four Indian citizens who were trapped in the Russia-Ukraine war have finally returned to India. They were tricked into joining the Russian army. One of them, Mohammad Sufiyan from Telangana, had even released a video seven months ago, pleading for help.

After returning to India, Sufiyan shared shocking details about the terrible conditions they faced there.

“We Were Treated Like Slaves”

Sufiyan said, “We were treated like slaves. Every day, we were forced to wake up at 6 AM and work continuously for 15 hours without rest or proper sleep. The treatment was inhumane. We had to survive on very little food while working hard.” After being forced into the army, they were also taught how to use weapons.

“We Lost Hope”

Sufiyan shared, “Our hands were covered in blisters, and our backs were in pain. In such terrible conditions, we began to lose hope. If we ever mentioned feeling tired, they even fired bullets to force us back to work.”

“Shattered by a Friend’s Death”

Sufiyan added that even thinking about the experience scares him. He recalled his friend Hamil’s death, saying, “My good friend Hamil from Gujarat was killed in a drone attack. He was part of a team of 24 soldiers, which included one Indian and one Nepali. His death shook me deeply.”
