The seat-sharing decision within the NDA for the Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024 has not been finalized yet. However, JDU (Janata Dal United) has started putting pressure on the BJP. Jharkhand JDU state president Khiru Mahto has gone to Bihar to discuss the matter. On Tuesday, October 15, Khiru Mahto spoke with ABP News. He stated that JDU wants to contest 11 seats in Jharkhand and prefers to fight the election alongside NDA. He has already given a list of 11 seats to the party’s national president, Nitish Kumar. This demand from JDU has increased the pressure on BJP.
“No Question of Contesting Only Two Seats,” Says Khiru Mahto
There have been talks about JDU getting only two seats in Jharkhand, but Khiru Mahto rejected this. He said, “There is no question of contesting only two seats.” He added that the media is speculating about JDU getting just two seats in the NDA alliance, but this is not true. Mahto emphasized that the biggest election issue for JDU is development and the formation of a Displacement Commission. He also said that the people of Jharkhand want change, and the current Hemant government hasn’t done anything regarding the CNT Act. He believes that Mahagathbandhan won’t get votes just from the Maiyya Samman scheme.

There are rumors that sitting MLA Saryu Rai and former minister Raja Peter may get tickets this time. Meanwhile, it is expected that JDU’s national working president Sanjay Jha will return to Patna from Delhi by late evening. After that, he may hold a meeting with Jharkhand leaders to discuss election strategies.
Khiru Mahto Meets Ashok Choudhary
On Monday, Khiru Mahto met Ashok Choudhary, Bihar’s Rural Development Minister and JDU’s state in-charge. Ashok Choudhary shared pictures of their meeting on his social media account and informed that Khiru Mahto and former Jharkhand minister Sudha Choudhary had detailed discussions about the upcoming assembly election.
