Major Protest on Thursday

A large protest took place in Shimla on Thursday. Many people from Hindu organizations gathered in the Sanjauli area, protesting against the alleged illegal construction of the Sanjauli Masjid and the presence of people from other states without proper verification. The protesters were stopped by the Shimla police at Sanjauli Chowk, as no permission was given for the demonstration. The protesters wanted to march near the mosque but were eventually directed to Dhalit Tunnel, where they continued their protest.

Discussion in the Assembly

The issue was also discussed in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday. During the debate, Cabinet Minister Anirudh Singh, from the Congress government led by CM Sukhu, expressed strong opinions. He pointed out that such incidents had not happened in Himachal before, and now new people are arriving in the state daily. He raised concerns about people coming from unknown places, possibly even Rohingya Muslims, and emphasized the need for proper verification of these individuals, including those who might be from Bangladesh.
