BJP’s Statement

The BJP letter said, “Rakesh Kumar Singh, who claims to be a BJP leader, is spreading false information and propaganda about our alliance partner, Chirag Paswan, to gain cheap popularity. We deny these claims. Rakesh Kumar Singh is neither a member of the BJP nor connected to our party in any way.”

Allegations Against Chirag Paswan

Rakesh Singh had alleged that Chirag Paswan hid details about his assets in his affidavit for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Singh claimed that Paswan only mentioned his property in Patna and failed to disclose 80 acres of land in his ancestral village. Singh, who ran for elections from the Ghosi constituency on Chirag Paswan’s party ticket in 2020 but lost, had identified himself as a BJP leader while making these claims.
