Sunita Williams to Return from Space: Crew-9 Team Reaches Space Station

Since June, NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have been in space at the International Space Station (ISS). NASA has been working to bring them back to Earth. Recently, the spacecraft sent to bring them home has reached the space station. The NASA and SpaceX Crew-9 Dragon Capsule has arrived at the ISS. This team includes NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian space agency Roscosmos astronaut Alexander Gorbunov.

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore went to space in June 2024 on the Boeing Starliner spacecraft. Now, with the arrival of the Crew-9 team, Sunita and Butch are happy, and a video of their joy has been shared.

Crew-9 Welcomed at ISS

The Crew-9 team was welcomed upon their arrival at the International Space Station. SpaceX launched the mission on Saturday. According to NASA, astronauts Nick Hague and Alexander Gorbunov entered the space station at 7:04 PM. They were welcomed by the Expedition 72 crew, which includes Butch Wilmore, Sunita Williams, Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, Jeanette Epps, Don Pettit, and Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexander Grebenkin, Alexey Ovchinin, and Ivan Vagner.

When Will Sunita Williams Return to Earth?

According to the information, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore will continue their work until February 2025. After that, they will return to Earth aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft with two other members of the Crew-9 mission. While in space, Sunita and Wilmore have been sharing their experiences. Sunita mentioned that she misses her two dogs, friends, and family.
