In Delhi, there is a new controversy over the new official residence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, named ‘Phoolkumari Nivas’. Just like the earlier criticism faced by Arvind Kejriwalโs โSheeshmahalโ, this time Congress is attacking the BJP government for spending large amounts of money on the CM’s residence while people suffer in heat, water shortage, and power cuts.
๐ Congress Slams Costly Renovation
Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav said that while Delhiโs people are troubled by water problems, electricity cuts, and waterlogging, the CM is busy turning her official bungalow into a royal palace.
He revealed that โน59.40 lakh was spent just in the first phase of the renovation. This includes:
- โน11 lakh on air conditioning
- โน6 lakh on lights and chandeliers
- โน2 lakh on a special power backup system
๐จ โCM is Ignoring Public Problemsโ โ Congress
Yadav accused Rekha Gupta of ignoring the struggles of the people. He said this kind of spending during a crisis shows insensitivity, misuse of power, and a clear disregard for the publicโs problems.
He also reminded people that the Kejriwal government spent โน110 crore on โSheeshmahalโ, and now the BJP government is doing the same โ focusing more on luxury than on basic needs.
โ RO Water for CM โ Dirty Water for Public?
Yadav questioned the decision to install a RO system in the CMโs house while millions of Delhi residents are drinking dirty water. He asked:
“If the CM herself cannot drink tap water, how can the government ask the public to trust its water testing labs?”
๐ท CCTV at CM House but Not for Womenโs Safety?
Congress also raised questions about womenโs safety in Delhi. They said the CM issued a tender for 14 CCTV cameras worth โน5.74 lakh for her house but did not give any update on the 50,000 CCTV cameras promised for public safety.
๐บ TVs, ACs, and Rising Anger
Yadav said that five TVs worth โน9.3 lakh are being installed in the CMโs house. One of them, a 165 cm special TV, is only for the CM.
Also, 14 air conditioners worth โน7.76 lakh are being installed, with a five-year warranty. Mocking the move, Yadav said:
“If this continues, BJP leaders may replace the CM before her warranty ends!”
๐งพ Summary:
Congress has strongly criticized CM Rekha Gupta for spending public money on luxury items while ignoring the real issues of Delhiโs people. They demand answers and better focus on basic needs like clean water, electricity, and womenโs safety.
