Oppo has officially confirmed the India launch date for its next-generation Reno 16 smartphone lineup. The company will introduce the Oppo Reno 16 series on July 2 at 12 PM IST, bringing two new smartphones to the market — the Oppo Reno 16 and the Oppo Reno 16c.
Ahead of the launch, Oppo has revealed several key specifications, particularly focusing on the camera capabilities and design of the upcoming devices.
Oppo Reno 16 Camera Specifications
The standard Oppo Reno 16 will feature a triple-camera setup on the rear. It will include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel telephoto portrait camera capable of delivering 3.5x optical zoom with an 85mm equivalent focal length. Completing the setup is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera for capturing wider scenes.
The more affordable Oppo Reno 16c will arrive with a dual-camera system. While it retains the same 50-megapixel main camera and 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, it skips the dedicated telephoto lens found on the standard model.
For selfies and video calls, both smartphones will feature a 50-megapixel front-facing camera housed inside a centered punch-hole display. According to Oppo, the selfie camera offers a 100-degree field of view, making it suitable for group photos and wider video recordings.
Additionally, both devices will support 4K video recording at up to 60fps and feature a dual LED flash for improved low-light photography.
AI Camera Features and Bubble Accessory
Oppo is introducing several software-based photography enhancements with the Reno 16 series. Users can expect camera features such as Dual-View Video 2.0, Popout 2.0, Pop Cam, and AI Remix Collage, offering more creative shooting options.
Alongside the smartphones, Oppo will also launch a new magnetic accessory called the Oppo Bubble. This lightweight attachment weighs approximately 27.5 grams and connects magnetically to the back of compatible devices. It includes a 1.73-inch AMOLED secondary display, providing additional functionality without unlocking the phone.
Availability and Colour Options
The Oppo Reno 16 series will be available for purchase through Amazon India, Flipkart, and authorised retail stores after its official launch.
Oppo has confirmed that the smartphones will be offered in three colour finishes:
- Starry White
- Stellar Purple
- Twilight Violet
The standard Reno 16 will feature Oppo’s new HoloVerse 3D design combined with a Floating 3D Glitter finish, giving the phone a distinctive premium appearance.
