Bangladesh’s Historic Win
The Bangladesh cricket team has made history by defeating Pakistan in their own backyard. In the second Test match played in Rawalpindi, Bangladesh chased down 143 runs on the final day, winning by 6 wickets. This is the first time Bangladesh has won a Test series against Pakistan.

Bangladesh Moves Up in the WTC Points Table
Bangladesh’s victory has improved their position in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table. They had already won the first Test by 10 wickets. With the latest win, Bangladesh now has a points percentage of 45.83%, moving up to 4th place. They have surpassed teams like England and South Africa.

Can Bangladesh Reach the Final?
Despite their recent success, Bangladesh’s path to the WTC final is challenging. They will play 2 Test matches against India and then face South Africa in another 2-Test series in October. To reach the final, Bangladesh will need to win both series, which is a tough task.

Pakistan’s Struggle
Pakistan is in a difficult situation. They have won only 2 out of 7 matches in the current WTC session. With a points percentage of just 19.05%, Pakistan is at 9th place in the table. They still have series against England, South Africa, and the West Indies. Even with wins in these series, reaching the final might be out of reach.

Current Standings
India is currently at the top of the WTC points table with a percentage of 68.52%. Australia is in 2nd place with 60%, and New Zealand is 3rd with 50%. It seems likely that the 2023 WTC final might feature the same teams as before.
