Indian cricketer Yash Dayal has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking to cancel the FIR (First Information Report) registered against him in a sexual harassment case. The FIR was lodged at Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
⚖️ What is the Case About?
On 6 July, a woman filed a police complaint at Indirapuram station, accusing Yash Dayal of sexual harassment. After this, the matter gained public attention. Yash Dayal has now approached the High Court, calling himself innocent and asking for relief from the case.
In his petition, Yash Dayal has made the state government, the SHO (Station House Officer) of Indirapuram police station, and the complainant woman as parties in the case. The matter is expected to be heard soon by a double bench of the court.
⚠️ What Has Yash Dayal Said?
Yash Dayal has also filed a counter-complaint against the woman at Khaldabad police station in Prayagraj, accusing her of blackmailing him. Through his lawyer, he submitted a written complaint, claiming the woman is mentally harassing him and demanding money.
He also alleged that the woman threatened to defame him and ruin his cricket career. He has asked the Prayagraj police for a fair investigation and proper legal action.
🧑⚖️ What Happens Next?
Both sides have taken legal steps, and now the matter is in front of the High Court. According to legal experts, Section 69 of BNS, which deals with sexual harassment, includes strict punishment and tough rules. So, the court’s decision could have a big impact on both parties.
It will now be important to see whether the High Court gives any temporary relief to Yash Dayal or not, and how the case moves forward.
