Gadar 2, one of the highest grossing films of 2023, is going to be released again. But this time something new is being added to it.

Zee Studios, in association with India Signing Hands, is thrilled to announce the re-release of the blockbuster film, Gadar 2, just in time for its first anniversary. The superhit sequel, which captured the hearts of millions across the country last year and became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time, is all set to return to the silver screen. In a pioneering move to make cinema accessible to all, Gadar 2 will be screened with Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation for the benefit of deaf audiences. Zee Studios is delighted to collaborate on the initiative by screening the film in select PVR cinemas across the country, providing an immersive cinematic experience for differently-abled audiences.

Set against the backdrop of the third Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the film follows the heroic journey of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) as he crosses the border to rescue his son Charanjeet (Utkarsh Sharma), fighting all odds. The film is one of the highest-grossing films of 2023, which collected more than Rs 600 crore.

Sunny Deol, who returns as Tara Singh, said, “Gadar 2 is a film that has and will always have a special place in my heart. So, it is overwhelming to see the continued love and support from the audience even a year after its release. This re-release with Indian Sign Language interpretation will give the film a chance to touch the hearts of even more audiences this time around.”

Ameesha Patel, who reprises the role of Sakina, said, “Being a part of the Gadar films has been an incredible journey for me. It feels great to be able to bring Sakina’s story back to the big screen for a special audience who do not get enough opportunities to fully enjoy cinema like the rest of us, and I hope this initiative inspires other filmmakers to make cinema more inclusive and accessible.”

Gadar 2 will be screened in Indian Sign Language at select PVR cinemas in all major cities across India on Sunday, August 4.
