Kolkata Rape-Murder Case: Big Revelation from DNA Sample, Here’s the Latest Update

Every day, new details are emerging in the Kolkata rape-murder case. The CBI investigation is now in its final stage. According to reports, the DNA of the victim and the accused has matched. The CBI had already received the DNA report earlier, but for final confirmation, it was sent to AIIMS. A panel of AIIMS doctors thoroughly examined the DNA report.

So far, the investigation has revealed that only Sanjay Roy is involved in the rape and murder case. No other person has been found involved. The CBI has taken statements from over 100 people in this case, and polygraph tests were conducted on 10 individuals.

What Happened in This Case?

On the morning of August 9, the body of a trainee doctor was found inside the seminar hall of the hospital. The very next day, police arrested Sanjay Roy. On August 13, the Kolkata High Court ordered the transfer of the investigation to the CBI. The CBI started the investigation on August 14. After this incident, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) suspended the membership of the former principal of R.G. Kar Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh.

Ongoing Protests in the State

There have been widespread protests in Kolkata against this incident. To demand justice for the victim, people turned off their lights for one hour last night. Even prominent sites like Victoria Memorial and Raj Bhavan turned off their lights. Governor C.V. Ananda Bose lit candles at Raj Bhavan and shared the photos on social media. He wrote in the caption, “When light brings fear, darkness becomes dear.”
