For a long time, Twitter was recognized by its blue bird logo. However, after Elon Musk took over the platform, several changes were made. The biggest change was renaming Twitter to “X”. Now, the iconic blue bird logo that once stood at Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters has been sold in an auction.
How Much Did the Blue Bird Logo Sell For?
The blue bird logo was auctioned for $34,375 (around ₹30 lakh). The auction company confirmed this news. The logo, which weighs 254 kg and measures 12 feet in length and 9 feet in width, was sold to an undisclosed buyer.
Other Items Sold in the Auction
The auction included several rare and valuable items, such as:
- Apple-1 computer – Sold for $375,000 (₹3.22 crore)
- Apple check signed by Steve Jobs – Sold for $112,054 (₹96.3 lakh)
- First-generation sealed 4GB iPhone – Sold for $87,514 (₹73.5 lakh)
Even though the blue bird logo is no longer part of X (formerly Twitter), it still holds strong brand recognition, just like Apple or Nike logos.
Elon Musk’s Twitter Takeover
In 2022, Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion (₹3,368 billion). At that time, he stated that free speech is essential for democracy and promised to make Twitter the best platform with new features and improvements.
Future of “X”
With Donald Trump’s return to power in the US and advertisers coming back, X is expected to see financial improvements in the coming days. This also brings relief to banks that loaned $13 billion for Musk’s acquisition.
