Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam and a key BJP leader for the Jharkhand elections, often makes headlines for his statements. On Saturday (August 31), he spoke with the news agency ANI and said that if the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) stands against illegal immigrants, BJP would be open to working together.

Sarma mentioned that JMM needs to make a decision on whether they will oppose illegal immigrants or engage in appeasement politics. If JMM declares that they are against illegal immigration and not practicing appeasement politics, BJP would have no objections and would be willing to collaborate for the development of all.

Former JMM MLA Joins BJP

A day after former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren joined BJP, former JMM MLA Lobin Hembram also joined BJP on Saturday (August 31). BJP’s state president Babulal Marandi welcomed Hembram into the party in the presence of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Lobin Hembram, who has served as a five-term MLA and was a prominent leader in JMM, expressed that he has worked diligently to build and strengthen JMM. He stated that he has been dedicated to the party since childhood.
