Realme has expanded its 16 series in India with the launch of the new Realme 16x 5G. The smartphone focuses on battery life, a high-refresh-rate display and durable construction, while being powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset.
One of the biggest highlights of the Realme 16x is its 7,000mAh battery, which supports 45W fast charging. The phone also features all-scenario bypass charging and 6.5W wired reverse charging, allowing it to charge other compatible devices.
Realme 16x Display and Design
The Realme 16x comes with a large 6.81-inch LCD display featuring a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel offers a resolution of 1,570 × 720 pixels and can reach up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness.
For protection, the screen is covered with Panda-1681 glass. Realme has also equipped the phone with support for wet-hand and glove operation, making the touchscreen more practical in different conditions.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Realme 16x is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset. It is available with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
The smartphone ships with Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0. Realme has promised two Android version upgrades and three years of security updates for the device.
For thermal management, the phone features a 5,300mm² VC cooling system, designed to help control temperatures during extended usage and gaming.
Camera Setup
The camera hardware on the Realme 16x is relatively straightforward. At the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera, while the rear panel houses a 50MP primary camera.
The rear camera module also includes a Pulse Light, which can be used for notifications and visual alerts.
Durability and Other Features
The Realme 16x comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and carries an IP65 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
It also has MIL-STD-810H certification, adding to its durability credentials. These features make the phone particularly focused on everyday reliability rather than just specifications.
Realme 16x Price in India
Realme has launched the 16x in three RAM and storage configurations:
- 4GB + 128GB: ₹25,999
- 6GB + 128GB: ₹27,999
- 6GB + 256GB: ₹30,999
The phone is available in Glory White and Endurance Brown colour options.
The Realme 16x will go on sale in India from August 13, through Realme’s official website, Flipkart and select mainline retail stores.
Realme 16x vs Realme P4R and Narzo 100x
Interestingly, the Realme 16x shares much of its hardware with the Realme P4R and Realme Narzo 100x 5G, both of which are already available in India.
The major difference is the battery capacity. While the P4R and Narzo 100x feature an 8,000mAh battery, the new Realme 16x comes with a 7,000mAh cell.
Overall, the Realme 16x stands out with its large battery, 144Hz display, Dimensity 6300 chipset and rugged build features. However, its pricing puts it in a competitive segment where buyers may also consider other 5G smartphones offering AMOLED displays or more capable camera systems.
