Shah Rukh Khan has added another milestone to his successful run in the entertainment industry. The first song from his upcoming film King, titled Tu Mil Jaaye, has received an impressive response from audiences, recording more than 36 million views on YouTube within just 24 hours of its release.
The romantic track was released on November 2, coinciding with Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st birthday. Featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the song quickly gained attention across social media and music platforms.
According to the reported figures, Tu Mil Jaaye collected approximately 36.3 million YouTube views during its first 24 hours. With this achievement, it became the most-viewed song from an Indian film within a single day, surpassing the previous record held by Shah Rukh Khan himself.
His 2023 film Jawan had previously created a similar milestone with the song Zinda Banda, which received around 34.6 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours.
However, the overall record for a music release remains with Badshah’s independent track Paagal, which reportedly generated 75 million views in its first 24 hours.
Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi Lend Their Voices to the Song
Tu Mil Jaaye brings together several popular names from the music industry. The track features vocals by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi, while Ed Sheeran contributes a rap segment.
The music has been composed by Sachin-Jigar, with lyrics written by Kumaar. The combination of established artists and the on-screen pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has helped the song attract considerable attention.
Despite its strong viewership, the track has also received mixed reactions from social media users. While many fans have appreciated the romantic presentation and the chemistry between the lead actors, some viewers have compared its visuals and overall treatment with Shah Rukh Khan’s previous films, particularly Pathaan and Jawan.
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone Reunite in ‘King’
The song marks another on-screen collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, who have previously worked together in films such as Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Pathaan.
King is directed by Siddharth Anand, who previously collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan on the 2023 blockbuster Pathaan. The upcoming film also features Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan, alongside Rani Mukerji, Raghav Juyal, Arshad Warsi and Jaideep Ahlawat in important roles.
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026. Its release will come a week after the arrival of major Hollywood titles Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three.
With its first song already generating significant online attention, King has become one of the much-anticipated Bollywood releases of the year.
