President Muizzu thanked India: helped a lot in repaying the loan; Maldivian minister coming to India for road show

0

President Mohammed Muizzu has thanked India for helping in strengthening the economy of Maldives. Addressing the nation on the occasion of Maldives’ Independence Day, he said that both India and China have helped a lot in repaying the debt of Maldives.

Muizzu expressed hope that India and Maldives will build strong relations and sign a free trade agreement soon. Regarding the shortage of US dollars in Maldives, Muizzoo said that his government is talking about currency swap agreements with India and China.

India has provided assistance of Rs 400 crore to Maldives under the ‘Neighbors First Policy’. Maldives expressed gratitude for this and hoped that India would help in making the repayment of the loan easier.

Maldives is facing economic crisis, IMF had warned
According to a Reuters report, a few months ago the IMF had warned Maldives that if it did not make changes in its economic policy, it may have to face problems regarding debt. Earlier in a meeting on Friday, Muizzu had said that China has given relief from loan repayment for up to five years.

There has been tension between the two countries since the coming of the government of Mohammed Muizzu, who ran the ‘India Out’ campaign in Maldives in November last year. This is hurting the tourism sector of Maldives. After the objectionable remarks made on Prime Minister Modi in January 2024, the number of Indian tourists visiting Maldives has reduced significantly.

To remove the tension between the two countries, Maldives Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal is visiting India. They will hold road shows in big cities like New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru to woo Indian tourists. During this period, people will also be appealed to come to Maldives in maximum numbers.

The number of Indians visiting Maldives continues to decline
Ibrahim Faisal is coming to India at a time when the number of Indian tourists visiting Maldives has decreased rapidly. There has been a decline of 42 percent in the number of Indian tourists visiting Maldives between January and April this year as compared to last year. In the first 4 months of 2023, the maximum number of Indian tourists went to China. Tourists from China stood third in this matter.

According to the data of Maldives Tourism Department, 73,785 Indians had reached Maldives between January and April in 2023. This year this figure was 42,638. Compared to last year, Maldives lost 31,147 tourists in just 4 months.

According to the data, only 15,003 Indians had reached Maldives in January 2024. In January 2023, this figure was 18,612. At the same time, 11,522 Indian tourists went to Maldives in February 2024. A year ago in February 2023, this figure was 19,497.

In the case of recovery from trucks on the Bihar-UP border in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, some more policemen may also be accused. All the policemen of Narhi police station…

The parties of the India alliance have boycotted the meeting of the Governing Council of Niti Aayog, in fact the leaders angry with the budget had already announced that they will not attend the meeting.

Delhi:
Niti Aayog meeting is going on in Delhi today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Except Mamata Banerjee, no opposition leader attended this meeting. Even NDA ally JDU leader Nitish Kumar is missing from the meeting. However, why Nitish could not attend the meeting has not been revealed yet. According to the information, both the Deputy CMs of Bihar are present in the meeting.

On boycotting the meeting, Congress MP Manickam Tagore said that this is the decision of the elected Chief Ministers. The Planning Commission was doing great work but they abolished it. Non-BJP ruled states are being discriminated against, especially as the Budget put Chief Ministers in a tight spot and forced them to boycott NITI Aayog. The budget is against those who voted against BJP.

Although the opposition leaders did not attend this meeting, but West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had come to attend this meeting. But she left the meeting midway and came to the bar. CM Banerjee says that she was stopped from speaking during the meeting. He was silenced only after speaking for 5 minutes. Angered by this, Mamata left the meeting midway. Mamta Banerjee also said that she will never come to this meeting again. However, government sources say that this allegation is false.

Apart from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, no chief minister from the allies of the India Alliance attended the meeting. From Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, no one is present in this meeting.

Mamta Banerjee demands reinstatement of Planning Commission
Chief Ministers of many states have gathered in Delhi to participate in the NITI Aayog meeting. In the meeting, all the states will get a chance to raise their concerns and important issues. Mamata Banerjee said, “Ever since the NITI Aayog was planned, I have not seen a single work being done because it has no power. Earlier, as the Planning Commission and as a Chief Minister…at that time I saw that a system Was.”

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who reached Delhi on Friday to attend the meeting, said that the Planning Commission should be reinstated by abolishing the commission established by the Narendra Modi-led government. While talking to journalists, she termed BJP as a “tukde-tukde platform” and said that she will not allow her state to be divided.

Indian Students Flee Bangladesh Amid Deadly Protests Over Job Quota System

A massive exodus of Indian students is underway from Bangladesh, where violent protests have erupted over a controversial job quota system. The unrest has claimed over 115 lives, prompting the Indian government to intervene and ensure the safe return of its citizens.

So far, nearly 1,000 Indian students have made it back to India, with 778 crossing the border by land and around 200 flying in from Dhaka and Chittagong airports. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with over 4,000 students still stranded in Bangladesh, providing them with necessary assistance.

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka, along with the Border Security Force and the Bureau of Immigration, is working tirelessly to facilitate the safe passage of Indian students through border crossings. The government has advised Indian nationals in Bangladesh to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

The protests in Bangladesh are against the government’s job quota system, which sets aside a significant number of government jobs for certain groups. Protesters argue that this system is unfair and prevents deserving candidates from getting hired. The Bangladeshi authorities have shut down all educational institutions indefinitely, affecting the lives of many students, including those from India.

In addition to Indian students, citizens of Nepal and Bhutan have also crossed into Meghalaya from the violence-affected areas, taking refuge in the state. The Meghalaya government has set up a helpline to assist its citizens affected by the violence in Bangladesh.

One of the students who returned, Asif Hussain, described the experience as terrifying. He and about 80 other Indian students hired private taxis to travel to the border, where they faced further delays before finally crossing into India.

The ongoing protests have not only disrupted daily life but also severely affected communication networks, with mobile internet services cut off in many areas. The Indian High Commission has activated multiple helplines operating round the clock to assist Indian nationals and has been providing regular updates to keep families informed about the situation.

Air Algerie Website Taken Down by Hacktivist Vanguard in #Pawn_Algeria Operation

In a dramatic cyber attack, the official website of Air Algerie has been taken offline by the hacktivist group Hacktivist Vanguard. This operation, codenamed #Pawn_Algeria, has resulted in the complete shutdown of the airline’s online services, causing significant disruption.

🎯 Target: Air Algerie Website
✅ Host Report: Check Host Report
🔴 Operation Name: #Pawn_Algeria

The attack has rendered the Air Algerie website, a crucial platform for the airline, completely inaccessible. This breach has been confirmed through the host report, which details the website’s current inoperability. Hacktivist Vanguard’s action is part of their ongoing campaign to make a statement against what they perceive as interference in their nation’s internal matters. The group has previously criticized the involvement of foreign entities in domestic issues and has used such attacks to voice their discontent, including creating memes and other content to amplify their message.

This incident highlights Hacktivist Vanguard’s aggressive approach to cyber activism, targeting high-profile organizations to protest against what they consider unjust external influence. The operation, #Pawn_Algeria, underscores the group’s commitment to addressing their grievances through cyber means.

Authorities are actively investigating the breach to assess its full impact and to uncover the specific motivations behind the attack. As of now, there is no information on whether any sensitive data has been compromised. The situation is evolving, and updates will be provided as more details emerge.

This event serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by major organizations in the digital age and the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures to defend against sophisticated cyber threats.

Hacktivist Vanguard Takes Down Bangladesh Post Websites in Solidarity with Student Protests

In a significant cyber attack, the Bangladesh Post websites have been taken offline by the notorious hacking group, Hacktivist Vanguard. The affected websites, bdpost.gov.bd and bangladeshpost.gov.bd, were defaced and rendered inaccessible. The reason behind the attack, according to Hacktivist Vanguard, is to support the ongoing student protests in Bangladesh. These protests demand an end to a quota system that reserves up to 30% of government jobs for relatives of veterans who fought in Bangladesh’s war of independence in 1971. The students argue that the system is discriminatory and benefits supporters of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. They are advocating for a merit-based system to replace the existing quotas.

The protests have escalated into violent clashes, resulting in at least 25 deaths and hundreds of injuries. Students, police, and government supporters have been involved in these confrontations, with allegations that police and government supporters have attacked the student protesters. The violence began at Dhaka University and has since spread to other cities across Bangladesh. The demands for reform stem from the students’ belief that the current quota system unfairly favors certain groups and perpetuates inequality.

The hacking operation was conducted by a member of Hacktivist Vanguard known as INDIX FALCON. The attack has drawn significant attention online, with the hashtag #FUCKYOUBDGOV trending as a result. Through this cyber attack, Hacktivist Vanguard aims to highlight the ongoing struggle of the students and the violence they are facing in their fight for a fairer system.
