ICC ODI Rankings Update: India Remain No.1, But New Zealand Close the Gap

The latest annual update to the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings has brought some changes to the international cricket standings, although India continue to hold the top position in the format.

Despite remaining at the summit, India’s rating points have dropped slightly from 119 to 118. At the same time, New Zealand have strengthened their position in second place after gaining two rating points, reducing the gap between the two teams from eight points to just five.

World champions Australia remain firmly placed at No. 3 in the rankings with 109 rating points and have maintained their position without any change.

One of the significant developments in the updated rankings is South Africa’s rise to fourth place. The Proteas now have 102 rating points, moving ahead of Pakistan, who have slipped to fifth position with 98 points.

Further down the table, Bangladesh continue to occupy ninth place, but the distance between them and the West Indies has widened considerably, creating a 10-point gap between the two sides.

Several other teams have also experienced movement in the rankings. Ireland have climbed above Zimbabwe to claim the 11th spot, while the United States have overtaken Scotland to move into 13th place. Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates have edged ahead of Canada and now sit in 19th position.

India’s dominance in white-ball cricket continues beyond the ODI format, as they also hold the top spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings following the recent annual update. In Test cricket, Australia remain the highest-ranked men’s team in the world.

Australia also continue to lead women’s cricket, occupying the No. 1 position in both the ICC Women’s ODI and T20I Team Rankings.
