Invitations for Independence Day Celebration: A Look at the Special Guests

Preparations for Independence Day are in full swing across the country. As always, this year’s celebration will be grand. The Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort promises to be a memorable event with special guests from various fields. Approximately 6,000 distinguished guests have been invited to the 78th Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort. This year, guests from 24 different categories have been invited, all of whom have played significant roles in nation-building.

Farmers, ASHA, and ANM Workers Invited

A total of 250 farmers who have benefited from the Prime Minister’s Kisan Samman Nidhi have been invited as special guests. These farmers represent the millions who have benefited from the government’s financial aid. Additionally, 250 beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme will attend the Independence Day celebration. Members of farmer producer organizations, totaling 500, will also be present. Furthermore, 150 ASHA and ANM workers who provide essential health services in rural and remote areas will be part of the celebration.

Lakpati and Drone Didis to Attend

In addition, 300 elected women representatives from gram panchayats have been invited. Among the special guests are 150 ‘Lakpati Didis’ (women earning over a lakh) and 150 ‘Drone Didis’ (women skilled in drone technology). Students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools, numbering 150, as well as 100 tribal artists and members from Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, Anganwadi workers, and Sakhi Centers will also join the event. Women workers from Sankalp Hubs for women empowerment and Child Welfare Committees, totaling 300, will be present.

Olympians and Volunteers as Special Guests

The 78th Independence Day celebration will also feature 400 NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers under the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” initiative and 200 beneficiaries of the “Mera Bharat” scheme. Special guests will include approximately 150 athletes who will participate in the Paris Olympics 2024. Additionally, 1,000 members representing each block from aspirational districts, 200 innovators, students from AIM (Atal Innovation Mission), and 200 students from the PM SHRI scheme will be invited.
