PM Modi Receives Warm Welcome in Ukraine

After visiting Poland, PM Narendra Modi has arrived in war-torn Ukraine. As soon as he arrived in Kyiv by train, he was warmly welcomed by Ukrainian officials at the station. The video of this welcome is currently trending.

Focus on Peaceful Resolution

PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine comes about six weeks after his high-profile trip to Moscow, which faced criticism from the US and Western countries. During his visit, PM Modi is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Zelensky and discuss ways to peacefully resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He traveled from Poland to Kyiv by a special train called ‘Rail Force One,’ which took approximately 10 hours. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor are accompanying him.

Historic Visit

This is the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited Ukraine since diplomatic relations were established in 1992. Before leaving Delhi, Modi expressed his eagerness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance discussions on a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict. India has maintained a neutral stance in the Russia-Ukraine war and has called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the issue. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has stated that India could play a crucial and constructive role in resolving the conflict.

Warm Welcome in Kyiv

Upon reaching Ukraine, PM Modi received a warm welcome from the Indian community in Kyiv. He shared several photos of his arrival on social media. The Indian community in Ukraine cheered and supported him enthusiastically.

Travel from Poland to Kyiv

PM Modi traveled to Kyiv from Poland on a special train, and after arriving, he was greeted warmly at the station. He then went to the Hyatt Hotel, where he was enthusiastically welcomed by Indian expatriates. The main focus of PM Modi’s visit is to discuss peaceful solutions to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, with India seen as potentially playing a constructive role in mediation.
