Two Teams Reach Semifinals, India-Pakistan-Sri Lanka Out; Group-B Race is Thrilling

The 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup is now in its final stages. Ten teams participated in the tournament, but five teams have been eliminated so far. Meanwhile, two teams have already secured their spots in the semifinals. With Pakistan’s loss on Monday, India’s hopes of reaching the semifinals also ended.

In the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, the 10 teams were divided into two groups. Group A included Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Group B had England, South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Scotland. The semifinals will start on October 17, and today, the complete picture of the semifinals will be clear.

India, Pakistan, and 5 Teams Eliminated

So far, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Scotland have been knocked out of the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup. All four Asian countries are now out of the race for the semifinals. The semifinals will be played starting from October 17, and the final will take place on October 20 in Dubai.

Two Teams Have Reached the Semifinals

From each group, two teams will qualify for the semifinals. From Group A, Australia and New Zealand have secured their spots. In Group B, however, the race for the semifinals is still exciting. No team has yet secured a spot from this group. England has played three matches and won all of them. South Africa has played four matches and won three. West Indies, currently in third place, has played three matches and won two. The final two semifinalists will be decided in the match between England and South Africa. Interestingly, any team from this group can still be eliminated.
