The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday (July 25, 2026) announced that it is ending its protest at Jantar Mantar after the Central government accepted all of its major demands following three rounds of talks.
The announcement came during a joint press conference attended by Union Ministers Jitendra Singh and J.P. Nadda, along with CJP leaders.
CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the discussions with the government were successful and all three key demands raised by the protesters had been accepted.
“Our protest had three main demands. The first was the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. A short while ago, he resigned, which means our first demand has been fulfilled,” Ranka said.
Government Agrees to Withdraw FIRs Against Protesters
According to CJP leader Saurav Das, the Centre has also agreed to withdraw all FIRs registered against protesters and organisers, not only in Delhi but also in BJP-ruled and BJP-allied states.
He said the government has assured the party that copies of all FIRs will be shared within the next three to four days. As per the latest information, around 15 to 20 FIRs were registered in Delhi during the protest.
Das added that the government has also promised to ensure that no new cases will be filed against protesters or organisers in connection with the agitation.
Written Assurance Expected by Tuesday
The CJP said it has submitted a draft seeking a written guarantee from the Centre regarding the withdrawal of FIRs and protection from future legal action.
According to party leaders, the government has agreed to provide its written assurance by Tuesday, after which the implementation process is expected to begin.
Protest Called Off After Demands Accepted
Ranka said that since all of the party’s demands have been accepted, protesters should immediately end the demonstration and return home peacefully.
“We request everyone participating in the protest to withdraw peacefully. We will inform supporters about our future strategy in due course, but for now, the protest has been called off because all our demands have been accepted,” he said.
CJP’s Three Main Demands
- Resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
- Withdrawal of all FIRs filed against protesters and organisers, along with assurance that no new cases will be registered.
- Compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of those who allegedly lost their lives after the NEET examination was not held.
The announcement marks the end of the Jantar Mantar protest after negotiations between the Centre and the Cockroach Janta Party resulted in an agreement on all key issues.
