Computex 2026, one of Asia’s largest technology trade shows, has officially kicked off in Taiwan, bringing together some of the biggest names in the tech industry. As the event gets underway, companies including Microsoft, Nvidia, AMD, Acer, HP, and Samsung have already introduced a range of new products focused on artificial intelligence, gaming, and high-performance computing.

From AI-powered laptops to ultra-fast OLED gaming displays, here are the biggest announcements from the opening day of Computex 2026.

Microsoft Introduces Surface Laptop Ultra

Microsoft unveiled the new Surface Laptop Ultra, which the company describes as one of the most powerful Surface devices ever created.

Developed in collaboration with Nvidia, the laptop is aimed at creators, developers, AI researchers, and professionals who require high-end computing performance. It features Nvidia’s latest Blackwell RTX graphics architecture and supports up to 128GB of unified memory.

The device comes with a 15-inch Mini LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen display capable of delivering up to 2,000 nits of HDR brightness. Microsoft claims the laptop can achieve up to 1 petaflop of AI computing power, allowing users to run local AI models with up to 120 billion parameters.

Acer Launches Predator Helios 18 AI Gaming Laptop

Acer showcased its latest flagship gaming machine, the Predator Helios 18 AI (2026).

The laptop features an 18-inch 4K Mini LED display with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz, offering a premium gaming experience. It can be configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics.

Acer also offers up to 256GB of RAM and as much as 6TB of SSD storage, making it one of the most powerful gaming laptops announced this year. The device includes a 99Wh battery and a Full HD webcam.

HP Unveils AI-Focused OmniBook Ultra Series

During his keynote presentation, Nvidia CEO introduced the company’s new RTX Spark chipset, a next-generation AI-focused platform that combines CPU, GPU, NPU, and modem technologies into a single system.

Following the announcement, HP revealed its new OmniBook Ultra 16 (2026) and OmniBook X 14 (2026) laptops powered by the RTX Spark chipset.

According to HP, these are among the world’s thinnest laptops featuring Nvidia’s latest AI platform. The devices are designed for developers and professionals who want to run advanced AI assistants and personal AI agents directly on their computers without relying heavily on cloud services.

AMD Announces Ryzen 7 7700X3D and Radeon RX 9070 GRE

AMD also took the stage at Computex 2026 with several new hardware announcements.

The company introduced the Ryzen 7 7700X3D processor, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card, and a special Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition processor.

In addition, AMD confirmed that support for its popular AM5 platform will continue through 2029, providing long-term upgrade options for PC builders and enthusiasts.

The company also unveiled new EXPO memory profiles with ultra-low latency support, designed to improve gaming performance on Ryzen-based systems.

Samsung Showcases 4K 360Hz QD-OLED Gaming Display

Samsung Display attracted attention with its latest OLED and QD-OLED technologies aimed at gamers.

The company showcased nearly 16 gaming display products, including compact 8.8-inch OLED panels for handheld gaming devices, a massive 49-inch ultra-wide OLED gaming monitor, and a cutting-edge 4K QD-OLED monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate.

The showcase highlights Samsung’s continued focus on delivering faster, smoother, and more immersive gaming experiences through advanced OLED display technology.

AI and Gaming Take Center Stage at Computex 2026

The first day of Computex 2026 clearly demonstrated that artificial intelligence and high-performance gaming remain the industry’s top priorities.

Major technology companies are increasingly focusing on running AI workloads locally on laptops and desktops, reducing dependence on cloud infrastructure while improving speed, privacy, and efficiency.

At the same time, advancements in graphics technology, processors, and high-refresh-rate OLED displays are pushing gaming hardware to new levels of performance.
