Honor has launched its new Magic 9 Pro Max in China, putting a major focus on smartphone photography and professional video recording. With two 200MP rear cameras and technology developed with ARRI, the new phone is aimed at users who want a more cinematic camera experience from a smartphone.

The Magic 9 Pro Max includes 14 ARRI-inspired filter presets and supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second in its “Cinema Grade” mode. The phone also supports 10-bit color and ARRI Wide Gamut 3, giving creators more flexibility when working with video footage.

A powerful directional microphone

The camera hardware gives Honor an interesting advantage on paper when compared with the latest iPhone 18 Pro Max.
