India Bandh: Police Lathi Charge in Patna, SDM Also Accidentally Hit

Date:

On Wednesday, a nationwide bandh (strike) was called across India. In Patna, protesters demonstrating against the reservation issue were met with police lathi charge. During the clash, police not only dealt with the protestors but accidentally hit an SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) with a baton.

Since early Wednesday, people supporting the bandh have been protesting, causing traffic disruptions. The police were forced to lathi charge to control the situation, but in the chaos, an SDM was also struck by mistake. After this incident, three police officers were seen surrounding the SDM.

The bandh’s impact was visible in many parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and other states. In Patna, bandh supporters blocked roads and set fires near Mahendru Ambedkar Hostel. The police administration is on high alert and trying to maintain order.

In Jehanabad, a large number of bandh supporters blocked roads, especially on the Patna-Gaya National Highway near Oonta Mod. The protesters have demanded that the Supreme Court’s decision be overturned through an ordinance.
