Dubai, October 14: India captain Shreyas Iyer has achieved a career-best fourth position in the latest ICC Men’s T20 International batting rankings following an impressive performance in the ongoing five-match home series against the West Indies.

Shreyas Iyer Joins India’s Leading T20I Batters

With Iyer reaching fourth place, India continue to have a strong representation among the top-ranked batters in T20 International cricket.

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan occupies the top position, while Abhishek Sharma is ranked second. Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan sits between the Indian players in third place after achieving a career-best rating following his performances against Sri Lanka.

Iyer’s latest achievement highlights his growing impact in the shortest format, particularly after his century in the series opener against the West Indies.

Several other international batters also improved their positions in the latest ICC T20I rankings.

Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis climbed three places to reach 23rd position. West Indies batter Sherfane Rutherford made a bigger jump, moving up 13 places to share 24th position.

India’s Sanju Samson also gained ground, rising four places to reach a joint 27th position.

These movements reflect the impact of recent performances on the ICC’s updated T20 International batting standings.

His rise marks a significant improvement in his standing among international T20 batters.

What Shreyas Iyer’s Ranking Means for India

Iyer’s move to fourth place adds another Indian name to the top end of the ICC T20I batting rankings. His maiden century against the West Indies has provided a strong start to the ongoing series and boosted his individual ranking.

The rankings could see further changes as the ongoing international series progress and players continue to deliver performances on the field.
