Ocular migraine: In ocular migraine, there is a problem of blind spot or light flash in one eye due to which the vision ability of the affected eye is reduced. These symptoms last for an hour or less.

Ocular migraine: Ocular migraine or retinal migraine is a rare condition related to the eyes due to which the ability to see can be temporarily affected. However, it can also cause blindness. In ocular migraine, there is a problem of blind spot or light flash in one eye due to which the vision ability of the affected eye is reduced. These symptoms last for an hour or less. Ocular migraine and migraine aura
Migraine is usually associated with headache but migraine is a type of neurological condition which can have a variety of symptoms. These sometimes include headache, but it is not necessary that migraine always involves headache. Retinal migraine is a type of migraine while migraine aura is a group of symptoms.

Retinal migraine is also called ocular migraine, optical migraine or eye migraine. It starts from behind the retina located in the eye. The reason for this is a temporary decrease in blood flow in this area. Due to this, pain may be felt but sometimes the ability to see may decrease without pain. Retinal migraine is a quite rare condition. It is found in only one in 200 migraine sufferers.

Migraine aura does not start in the eyes but in the brain. There can be many symptoms. Its symptoms can start from both the eyes and extend to headache. Some people complain of aura without any pain, which is called acephalic migraine or migraine aura without headache. It is often confused with retinal migraine.

Retinal migraine symptoms occur in only one eye. In this, the ability to see can be affected with or without pain. Symptoms may include

These problems in vision usually last between five minutes to an hour and after that vision becomes normal. This is a rare condition but it can cause permanent blindness. If such symptoms persist for more than an hour, a doctor should be immediately consulted.

Causes of Ocular migraine
Experts are still trying to determine what triggers retinal migraines. Possible triggers include

Stress, dehydration, smoking, caffeine and caffeine withdrawal, eye strain, bright light, hormonal changes, contraceptive medication,

Sensitivity to food and chemicals, high blood pressure, low blood pressure
